Mumbai: Veteran filmmaker K.C. Bokadia is once again bringing a socially relevant story to the big screen with his upcoming film Teesri Begum, a hard-hitting drama centered on relationships, betrayal, injustice and women’s empowerment. Known for directing memorable films such as Teri Meherbaniyan, Pyar Jhukta Nahin and Aaj Ka Arjun, Bokadia’s latest project explores the sensitive issue of polygamy with emotional depth and a strong social message.
The story revolves around Pooja Dixit, a simple and innocent young woman whose life changes dramatically after she is deceitfully married to Babban Khan. After marriage, her name is changed to Nagma, and she soon discovers that her husband already has two wives. The revelation sets off an emotional journey of pain, resistance and self-discovery as she struggles against injustice and betrayal.
The narrative takes a powerful turn when all three women unite to stand against their abusive husband, turning the film into a story of courage, solidarity and self-respect.

Actors Mugdha Godse, Kainaat Arora and veteran actress Zarina Wahab have delivered emotionally engaging performances that add realism and emotional weight to the storyline. Shot across real locations in Lucknow and Varanasi, the film captures the cultural texture of North India while reinforcing its socially relevant themes.
Industry insiders believe Teesri Begum carries a meaningful message about dignity, women’s rights and the importance of standing against oppression, making it one of the notable socially driven films of the year.
